Naomi Washburn Teaching Scholarship

Introduction

Naomi Washburn was a first grade teacher at Walnut Creek Elementary and Silver Creek Elementary for 26 years.  Even though she already had a degree in accounting, she was driven to teach and went back to college in her late 30's to get a degree in education and then continued in school to earn her masters.  She was a strong advocate for education all her life and continued to volunteer in various classrooms after she retired.. Naomi passed away July 14, 2013 from complications of bronchitis.
